Hi,

I want to mount a front receiver on a 2009 Tahoe to mount a portable winch. The front receivers that are available are too low for my comfort as it sits below the fascia, and partially through the air dam. I want to have clearance in this are, so I really would prefer the hitch be higher - like, be able to go through the fascia where the front licence plate is mounted.

Does anyone know of a front hitch receiver that will fit on the frame of the Tahoe, and will meet my needs? I know I will have to cut through the front fascia, and I am ok with that. I just need the receiver to sit higher and will only be used to mount a portable winch.

I would have to speculate that given there is so few of these who have opted to install a winch you may have to have a machine shop/fabrication shop make you one

Rough country makes a hidden winch plate for gmt900 pickups, maybe it could be made to work on a Tahoe. Eyeballing it I’d think it would have to sit lower to get it where you want.

I’ve used a universal winch plate to hide a winch behind a bumper, just not on a Tahoe.

Receiver winch plates stick out incredibly far and would hurt approach angle anyways.
