I've got a 99 Tahoe (see signature) that has a 2" receiver on the front. What is this typically used for? I could see it very occasionally being hand for pulling a trailer out, but not really anymore than the conventional way. Any ideas? Was it designed for another use?

you would be amazed at where you can put a trailer with a hitch on the front. it's like moving the trailer with a forklift.

Thanks, guys. I spent the last hour googling front hitch stuff! Didn't know about any of it. I have used my forklift on a trailer, although I was more excited by the ease of the up and down part. I even found a light use snow plow for a front hitch. I can't believe I've never heard of it before.

You can put a bike rack on front if you're towing a trailer. I'm hoping to get one for mine soon.
