I've replaced mine several times. using cheap to Timken. They all seem to fail in the ABS sensor area. Only once has the bearing itself really been bad.

The current one that is failing (passenger side which fails 3 to 1 compared to drivers side), is possibly a little loud, but my issue is the ABS sensor again. At 5-7 MPH, it drops out and cause the ABS to activate (pedal pulsates) slowing the stop (in a bad or frightening way that is).

Has anyone else have this type of ABS issue with these (I know it's reasonably common).

Ahh yes, I have the TSB, read about cleaning etc, thank you.

I haven't had them apart in 18 months, but I (for some reason) seemed to remember this hub being unserviceable. Yet, I do read this fix all the time (although I also read of it not always working). Gonna have to yank it and look again. Doh...

I was lazy, I used to get amazing deals on stuff and always just replaced the hub. Not any more though... Will actually now to examine, and clean the surface of the sensor mount area. I so much miss having a shop to work in, all outdoors now.

Thanks! :)
