05 Yukon Denali.

Front passenger seat is stuck all the way forward. All the controls work except for the forward/backward control. I've pulled all the connections loose to check for corrosion and found everything ok. Checked for obstruction and have none. Pulled the side panel and all the wires are connected and the switch seems fine. As far as I can tell I have no dedicated fuse just for the seat. Any suggestions?

I'm also wondering if the controls off my 02 Suburban plugs are the same. My thinking is to remove the one from it and try it on the Yukon.

Does the tilt work with that switch? I would think the 02 would plug right in. That way you can eliminate the switch

Yes, the tilt works. Thanks for the info on the switch. That was my thinking as well.

junkyard may have a used switch, usually if the wiring is not cooked or corroded then it turns out to be the switch, you could even try spraying the existing switch with some contact cleaner.

Well, it's not the switch. Switched switches and apparently I have no power to the big orange wire. I guess I'm pulling the seat to look for a loose wire or the motor is shot.

Well, I am puzzled now. I rechecked the wire and have power. I'm positive the switch is good.

Still the motor?

is there room to check the wiring behind the switch when you have it attached, maybe use a meter and see what happens when you push the switch if it actually switches power or if it just dies, my point is if the wire is burnt or shorted somewhere it may have power but not enough to engage the motor. it's just an idea of something to check before having to take the seat/motor out. I know those orange wires have been a headache for people before they get burnt at the connectors and I think somewhere under the carpet by the seat somewhere.

I've got power from the switch down to the large connection that's at the back of the seat. I read on line, somewhere, that the wire can become corroded or burned out. I've not noticed anything like that, but I think I'm going to put a jumper on it to see if that could be it.

I also read sometimes the seat gets stuck and needs to be unhooked for a few seconds and it may reset itself.
Dunno, I hate electrical issues.

Welp, I have power to the motor, both forward and reverse. No noise what so ever coming from the motor to indicate life. No hum, no bump, no motion indicating it's stuck. It also looks as if this thing would be a son of a bill to remove.

I don't see any type of manual override to put a socket on to move the seat back.

I don’t think there’s a way to move the seat besides the motor. The bolts to remove the seat are just 12-point even though they look like reverse torx. I know the seat has to come out to replace the motor, but I don’t know how hard it is to remove without being able to move it forward and back. Good luck, Im sure there’s a way.
