I am hoping that someone could help me narrow this down. The seat is leather with all the power functions. The problem that i am having is that the seat does not recline. It will push forward, but just will not go back from that position. So the seat is almost in a vertical and upright position, which is not comfortable. Would the problem be the switch or the motor?

My guess would be switch... reversing polarity causes the motor to spin in the opposite direction.

If the windings were bad in the motor then it wouldn't operate in either direction.

Thanks. I will give that a try. I appreciate the advice.

Weird. I am having the same issue that started this weekend. It will go back but not forward and it lays back. I will have it looked at and update you if I find anything out.

I just replaced the switch last week and it did fix the problem. Hopefully it will for your problem as well.
