Truck is a 2002 suburban with the 5.3 flex and 153k. So the truck wouldn't start two weeks ago unless I put starting fluid in the intake but then it would stall. I went to move it in the the driveway after spraying more starting fluid and the truck was fine and ran great. I took off the fuel filter and the inside rattled around. I cut it open and the filter was black so I know it was shot. New filter on and the truck runs great! Until this morning, same thing where it just cranks but runs on starting fluid. A friend of mine checked the pressure while it was running and it was at 46psi. Is that acceptable? I am pretty sure that a fuel pump is in my future. The previous owner had it from 60k up until 151k and they said they never did it. Thanks for any guidance.

Anyone? Fuel pump relay in under hood box is good. I swapped it out. I don't hear the pump kicking on though.

And using starting fluid to get the truck going to move it out of the way, it rotted out some diaphragm in the fuel pressure regulator. I may have fouled the O2 sensors as well since I got two lean codes thi week.
