Fuel door will not open on 2021 yukon denali 20230618_155804.jpgunless a card or something slim is used. Looks like a part broke off. Anyone have a part # for this?

So I called a couple of Houston Chevy dealerships and mentioned the service bulletin but they had no clue and gave me the runaround. I also tried the part number but no dealerships had it in stock. So what I had to do was order an entire fuel door housing priced at $46.96 after taxes. Then the fix was easy and I only needed a pair of needle noses pliers (mine was broken flush) and 1 minute to fix it per the service bulletin’s instructions. It sucks to buy a part I hope to never need but I think the $47 was worth it. Feel free to use my photos for references.

I have a question for you. On the other side where the door presses into - does that piece stay pressed in if say you push it in with a screwdriver?

Btw I called my dealer yesterday and they said the part in the bulletin was available out of Reno. $5. Your local dealer can get the part from elsewhere easily. Doesn’t have to be in stock.
