Our 2000 Yukon XL died today. I was fairly sure it was the fuel filter. Removed it, was clogged to the point I could not blow air through it. To make sure it wasn't the pump, cranked the engine once with the filter removed to make sure fuel was being sent. It was. Went to the parts store, got a filter installed it and now no fuel is being sent.

Did I mess something up? Is my fuel pump toast?

Please help!

My fuel pump went out at 136k miles.

When you turn the key to the ON position, without cranking the motor over, can you hear the fuel pump cycle on for a few short seconds? If so, I'm thinking the pump is fine.

When my pump went out I was idling in a parking garage and the car just stalled. Cranked and cranked it over but no go. Turning the key to the ON position, I heard no pump cycling on for a few seconds. New pump fixed my problem. I really wanted to do the fuel pump install myself and save a lot of money, only problem was that parking garage the Tahoe stalled in was 300 miles from my house as I was on vacation. Only time my Tahoe has left me stranded.

How much and will it fit my 2000? How fast could you get it here. This is our family car and we need it back and running ASAP.

Thanks

Did you take out the pump fuse before you removed the filter? Did you put the fuse back in? I know it's dumb, but things like that happen when you are rushing or busy. Worth a check on the fuse even if you didn't remove it.

Not sure if that is the right pump. It does not look like the replacement one for my car from NAPA. I am dropping the tank tomorrow and will let you know.

In regards to the pump fuse, all I can find is the relay for the pump. Is there a different fuse for it as well?
