Bad dash gauge or bad sending unit/float in tank. I’d put my money on a bad unit in the tank because that’s there the issue would be if it was my truck since it can be a PITA to get to.2008 Chevy Tahoe fuel gauge not working moves sometimes any clue

Did your gauge work with the old fuel pump?I had the pump replaced thought it was complete unit when done any way to check them out
Did your gauge work with the old fuel pump?
Any other work done to the vehicle around the time the gauge started acting up?
A little more of a description of exactly what the gauge is doing would help also.
If you have a scan tool that can read fuel level, plug it in and watch the live data and see if the fuel level changes “smoother” than the gauge.
That points even more to a problem in or at the tank since it started with the installation of the new pump. Might see if you can reach up and double check that the wire harness that goes to the fuel pump is fully seated and see if that takes care of your issue.Fuel gauge did work before new pump after new pump seem like gauge was off by a few gallons now will sometimes move randomly
Think it was a car quest person installed it said it was in the instrument panel but everything else works fineThat points even more to a problem in or at the tank since it started with the installation of the new pump. Who did the work? Do you know/remember what fuel pump (MFGR and Part Number) was installed?
Any DTC codes?
Also had emissions light on p0449 and that turned out to be wiring burned o. Drive shaft would that be same wire loom?Think it was a car quest person installed it said it was in the instrument panel but everything else works fine
