Yippee! Filled my tank on a $100 tonight. It almost didn't all fit. Happy the price is going down.

Ok now that my excitement is out of the way. I don't fill my tank past half most of the time but when I do the gauge seems to not function till a few gallons are burned off.

This is only like the 3rd time I'll filled it in a while and it eventually starts to work but right now the needle is on E and the Range says ---

Any suggestions? It is a 1 year old pump unit.

Could be either stepper motor or sending unit. But sounds more like sending unit.

yeah it would bounce around ad get stuck if it were stepper. I actually have a spare from when I did my speedo come to think of it I think I did the fuel gauge then

When I did my fuel pump, I noticed the sending unit was very delicate. So that may very well be the issue. Let us know what you come up with. Good luck.

Sending unit going bad. Not uncommon issue especially if it's the original unit.

Sender prob went bad. Out of warranty of course.
