I just had my fuel pump replaced on my 2003 Chevy Tahoe (5.3l flex fuel) and when I got it back the fuel guage did not move for three days. I drove around 100 miles total. So the fuel guage is not working. I had a mechanic put it on the computer and he tested the guage and said it is working correctly. He said it could be the sending unit but he does not know Chevy very well.

Did he replace or suggest to replace the sending unit? Most do this when doing a fuel pump to avoid problems like this. Maybe he didn't hook the sending unit back up or messed something else up on the reinstall? But it doesn't sounds like he wants anything to do with it, not sure why, fuel pump unit replacement on these trucks are pretty straight forward job.
