Substitute mirrors for tow mirrors?

On the new to me 2004 Silverado K2500HD it has the extendable mirrors that look like has accordion pleats that extend with the mirror. The d/s mirror glass has a slight shake to it and is kind of a PITA while driving and checking that mirror. Never really gonna use the extended part of the mirror, so I was wondering if there is a substitute mirror assembly that will bolt in to place. It the electrical control connectors mate up, even better, but if have to adjust by hand after the swap, so be it.

Or is there a way to pop that glass out and fix for no more shakes?

And yes, I know the hood is popped. This pic was taken just before I opened the hood for engine bay pics.

Can't get OE from GM and if they did have them, $600+. Used at ebay for $250 to $450 but I already have used. This truck will not ever be used to tow a big trailer, so the big extendable mirrors are not needed. I just want to get a new bolt on regular mirror that can be adjusted manually, if needed. If I can get a power adjust with t/s, I can use the wire in from the door connector.

Why not just buy some regular mirror assemblies for a 1500 off rock auto. This is one time where I’d say it really doesn’t benefit you to pay the premium for genuine gm

When uninsured guys sideswiped my ‘03 many years ago (in the stupidest way possible I’m still a little salty about today), they destroyed the entire drivers side mirror assembly. I couldn’t pursue them to make me whole for it. Well my truck actually had turn signal mirrors from the factory. Looked it up and it was hundreds of bucks to replace the assembly. N.F.W. So I just bought a cheapo aftermarket assembly from rock auto.

Lost the turn signal mirror, but otherwise looks completely stock and you cannot tell the difference looking at the truck unless you are over scrutinizing it and even then, the only tell is that there are no dots for the led arrow. It was like 3 bolts and 5 minutes of my time.

@PPV_2018, exactly why I asked. I was trying to make sure that the bolt up pattern was the same. I asked in case someone else had ran across the same problem and found out later that the bolt up pattern was different. Does not make sense to me that the bolt pattern would be different.

Fwiw, i never took the mirror off a 2500, so i can’t say for **absolute** certain:: but, i did own a GMT800 2500 and recall the mirrors basically being the same as my ‘03 sans the turn signal mirrors .. mirror.. highly unlikely gm Would have used different assemblies back then on the GMT800’s. Though on newer models, nothing would surprise me.

Also, cross referencing mirror and glass assemblies for both the 1500 and 2500 series trucks on RA yields many of the same part numbers, so it’s a pretty safe bet they’re the same bolt pattern! Should just be plug n play at least for the mounting hardware. Not sure about wiring.

If you really wanted to save some $$ dough, could probably snag one in your local u-pull-it yard.

I figured that "hopefully" the 3 hole bolt on pattern is the same for whatever mirror I get and if is easy enough, I would get a mirror that has the t/s and power fold mirror and wire that all in.

If someone has done that before, let me know what mirror you used. I am not needing the double arm mirrors that extend way out and are sticking way out just from bolting them on. A simple close to the door mirror assembly that has t/s and power fold, works for me.

I can even get by without power fold or t/s.
