Fuel Lines - Can Someone Help Me With a Part?...

My mechanic told me that my fuel lines are done and I need to replace them. Supply / Vapor / Return from the top of the fuel pump.

He said from the dealer it's $230. I'm looking online for a better deal, but I can't find anything that says those 3 key words in the description.

Hopefully someone can chime in and confirm?? It looks right to me but I've not looked at that system?? A viable Plan B ... print out that picture and show your guy.

I hope it's right! Thanks for the response man. But you're right, that is a plan b for sure before I go around throwing money.

That set is for an XL2500 only- look at the application. You didn't specify other than an 05 Yukon. There is a difference it looks like between the regular and XL, and also between different engine sizes. Go to www.rockauto.com and look it up. Also FYI there is a supply line and a return/vapor line, not 3 lines. Also looks like by the time you pay shipping, $230 is about right for OEM. You can get the OEM p/n from the dealer and shop online also. Are you going to install it yourself?

Did you read the description? BTW you still haven't told us exactly which 2005 Yukon you have, or whether you're planning on installing it yourself. Youre making it hard to help you. Looks like they're trying to make it easier to install since OEM lines might be difficult to route. Also, I assume you know the gas tank needs to be dropped in order to replace the lines?

Sorry man, I'm trying to figure out from afar what the truck is...pretty sure 4.8 (it's my wife's, and it's away at the mechanic's house right now...but everything I can find points to 4.8), so no - I'm not installing it, he is.

And yeah, he dropped the tank and did the pump last week.

He definitely told me that I'm looking for 3 lines though, that I'm sure about.

Hopefully someone who has replaced theirs will chime in. I know there's threads here where people have, it seems to be pretty common that the connections on top of the tank corrode.

The top of the pump was leaking, there was literally a pool of gas on the top of my tank - so the top of the tank and the connections were just sitting in gas.

That's what I've read has happened to others. Do a search here and you'll find a thread or two on the subject.
