I'm starting the process to change my intake manifold gaskets and was wondering which way is the best to releave the fuel pressure.

1.You will need to relieve the fuel line pressure. Locate under hoodfuse/relay center. Locate and identify the fuel pump relay. Start engine and disconnect the fuel pump relay from the fuse/relay center. The engine will falter and stumble and die. This will relieve the fuel pressure from the fuel lines. Turn ignition off and reinstall the fuel pump relay.

OR

2. Just relieve the fuel system pressure at the service fitting on the fuel line. Also remove the gas cap.

I went with option 1. The tahoe seemed to die right away. It didnt seem like enough time to release the pressure. Im gonna check the service fitting to see if anything comes out.
