Gain control on Bose amp?

I put in a new JVC head unit in my new to me 05 Yukon. When the head unit is on volume level 1, it's still loud. The head unit does have a volume adjustment and they're are all the way down too. I'm assuming it's louder since the the line level output is a higher wattage than the OEM unit.

From what I've read, the bose speakers are 2 ohm. Maybe I should just replace them now with 4 ohm to increase the resistance. And of course get better sound than factory speakers.

if you did not use a adapter and you are running high level input into the amp then yes it will be loud and likely distorted
