I cannot believe that you guy's are averaging 17-18mpg highway. I tried driving normal so many times to try and best the mpg but no way. I may buy the Edge Ensight CTS to see how if I can improve my mileage with it.

Keep in mind that the Ensight CTS is a monitor only, it doesn't tune at all. You CAN use it to read codes and monitor things as you are driving but that is it. I had it on my Dmax and wanted to keep up with things on the Yukon, but the Dmax is tuned with EFILive. On the "wish list" for the Yukon is a Ensight CTS and the back up camera that you can get with it.

Gotcha, I worded the post poorly. We need to rewind a bit, cannot compare a gas guzzling 5.7 in box truck to a more efficient 5.3?? in an aerodynamic 2004 body style. This is what happened last time in the gas thread, guys were comparing 2500 suburbans with 2 door 2wd hoes. Have to be apples to apples when comparing mileage and even then you get mixxed results.

Where did you buy yours? How much?

I got mine at the link below. $399 shipped. Yeah it is easy to get mileage figures all out of whack when talking about so many different versions of vehicles. It is actually kind of amazing, my Duramax gets just under 26 on the highway "hand calculated" running the same speeds; makes me want to save my pennies and do an LB7 swap into the Yukon...lol

Thanks for the link, imo the only real way to calculate mileage is "hand calculated" many would be shocked if they did it this way. JMHO

Agreed! There is no doubt about that.

A scangauge II costs $150 and works just as well:imo:

That is a neat looking set up. I personally went with the Ensight for the Duramax so I could monitor EGT's but will go with it for the Yukon so I have the ability to add a back up camera as well. The back up camera installs just like a tag frame so it is a super easy install and for me I need things as simple as possible...lol

We don't have highways in the islands so I'm mostly looking at city mileage. I get 12-14 driving below 1500 rpms and less when above it.

unknown at this time.
I have the camera input on the a/v head unit so I am good.

I should also mention the scangauge has two ports on each unit so it can be plugged in from side or back and units can be piggybacked with a standard ethernet cable. The tech support said the Gm PCM can handle two units with ease but you may have to slow down the update rate if three or more are used.

I was thinking about throwing a few together and get an enclose mad up for them But that will be a while I think so for now the single unit resides into the pocket below the hvac head

Yeah, we don't have the camera installed through the A/V unit so it was either purchase another head unit with that capability and then a monitor on the side or get this monitor and add the camera to it.

One drawback to it is that is really only mounts one way, with a choice of two mounts, one being the suction cup style like I have now, (shown below) and the other is a dash mounting pod for a clean oem style look to it. When I order the one for the Yukon it will get the pod, but for the one shown, I use it to check codes and operating conditions on other vehicles so it is simply easier to have the suction cup. It plugs into the OBDII port and away you go.
