I know about the common stepper motor issues with these trucks, how ever sometimes when starting the truck the gauge cluster wont come one, after a while, it cycles and operates normally. Sometimes it just cuts out while driving after coming on normally at start up. Sometimes it just resets and goes right back to working, and sometimes it will just stay off for ten mins or so. One thing I've noticed is that if I tap on it while its acting up, 90% of the time it will come back on. Is this a common issue?

I am interested in this too. We just bought an 07 Denali a month ago, and my wife said that she had a similar issue yesterday. She started the engine, but the dash info didn't come on. After watching it for a few seconds, she grabbed the key to turn it off and restart, but the cluster started functioning properly and has ever sense.

What year and model? Clusters were a big issue for most of these trucks. There was a recall letter for them.

My nephew has the same problem in his 04 Denali, pulled the cluster and unplugged it and it worked again, his is a loose wire in the wiring harness that plugs into the cluster.
