I ran into this problem a while ago, where my dome lights, and the aftermarket radio lights will turn on, but the HVAC and gauge lights will not. I went to the fuses to look and the #14 illum was busted. I immediately replaced it. Started the truck, went to go flip the light switch( next to dimmer) and it blew immediately. My radio has been going in and out lately, and I believe it's because its a crappy mechanical one I Putin 2 years ago. Are the head unit and gauges connected? If I take the head unit out, will it fix the gauges not lighting up? Thanks for any help! I also just replaced all the gauge bulbs with led, but this was after the fact of them not working.

I just took out the head unit, replaced fuse, and the dash works now. What do I need to do next time I install a head unit to prevent this?
