Hello all,

I have a 2013 yukon 4x4 and will be putting 35's under it. Have you found that there is a need to regear? Better yet, what is the stock gear ratio? That would give me a good idea of where I'll be once they're on.

Thanks

For those that care... And these were things I wondered about before putting it on. 35's are on with 7.5in lift, 20in hostage wheels, and gearing seems ok. The little driving on the highway I've done 35-40mi. Hasn't appeared to change gas mileage much. Had the cci leveling kit on it before this and it seems (so far) that the little lift and taking away the rake is the kicker for MPG's. Hopefully, all that holds to be true b/c I'm used to the hit on gas I already took.

You should notice a little loss of mpg with the lift and bigger/heavier tires. You may be completely satisfied with the gearing as is. You have changed it with the tires already and likely only notice the difference when accel from a dead stop or when trying to pass and accel hard. You need to look in the glove compartment for the option sticker for the code for your existing gear ratio. I would guess it is either 3:73 or 3:56 gearing. If is 3:73 I would likely leave it. Only you can make the decision. But whatever gear change you do will need to be done at the front and rear axles.

If you have the 6-speed you more then likely have 3.42s stepping up to a 3.73 or 3.90 will be a nice bump for you

I'd bet 3.42 if you have the 4spd or 3.08 if you have the 6 spd. Those are the more common ratios. If you haven't tuned to adjust for the tires, then your mileage is lying to you. And bear in mind that although the driveability may be tolerable, the stress on the trans is still there. If I was you, and you do consider gears, then I wouldn't consider anything less than 4.10 and would be looking more at 4.56 or 4.88 depending on your driving habits. I have 4.88s in my truck and have run both 35s and 37s and love the power.

It's been calibrated and computer reset... So it's correct. I was thinking about it and it rarely leaves the driveway without a trailer pulling kayaks and whatnot. that's probably why I didn't really see a change lol. Just so used to seeing those kind of numbers put up anyways. Most forget they have a trailer attached, I forget I don't. Damn thing is attached to me! I'm going to check on the gearing now... I really didn't see a need to up the gearing driving around today and last night though.

Just looked, 3.42 via the window sticker. Dunno, maybe b/c I'm used to pulling the trailer I drive a little less aggressive. I drive between 65-70 and in no hurry to be at the front of the line lol now to find a gearing chart... looks much bigger in person. Pics dont really do her justice.

looks cool, you may still consider re-gearing, would be far more noticeable if you had the 3.08 ratio like many of the 6-spds seem to come with.

I was playing with a gearing calculator based off of tire size and it seems my new ratio is 3.08. That's probably why I don't really feel it's completely inadequate. If it's the same as some of the stock vehicles, it can't be that bad lol. Old tires measured at 31.9in, new tires 35.4in.

Thanks for the "looks cool comment" as was really sweating the decision on wheel tire selection with the lift. You don't see any this color to compare to. The tan and black came out rockin though

I think it looks pretty damn good, man! And I know what you mean about the color. From the pic, it looks like your truck is Silver Birch, which mine is, also. Kind of an odd color to judge modifications against sometimes.
