Hallo to all Users here at this Forum. I am from Germany and need your help.

At the Moment we have in Germany very cold weather.maybe this would be the reason for my Problem now.

What my Problem is, that my electrical Tailgate at my Tahoe 2007 LTZ would start to open about 6" and then close again by him self. So i was push the roof button to manually and open the Tailgate by hand. I recognize that the both lifter would not give me any response that the tailgate would get pushed up. On any angle the tailgate would stay and drop a little about an 1/2". Could it be that i have to replace booth Lifters that my Tailgate would getting up with the motor?
I was seen some similar Vidoe's on YouTube. I had this Car now only for 3 weeks and i am not so familiar till now to all technical issues. I don't think that i have an technical Problem with the motor. Because if i seen my lifters at my other car for the hood, they pushing up the hood by them self. Motor runs also i here the unlock sound but the tailgate only opens this 6" and get back to close.

So what your guys think about this situation? Also witch Lifters are the best for such replace. Thanks a lot for your help and answers

Greetings Markus

I think you're right about having to replace one or both of the gas shocks on the tailgate. The motor is most likely reversing because it is sensing too much of a load and thinks there's an obstruction.

When you lift the tailgate manually, does it seem like the shocks are helping to lift the tailgate? If you open the tailgate manually, does it close properly using the motor?

If I had to get new ones, I'd probably get them from someplace like Rock Auto.

SACHS SG330072
Back Glass Lift; Left

SACHS SG330073
Back Glass Lift; Right

Looks like they are $8 each.

100% gas shocks. The system is saying the tail gate is too heavy and it's shutting.

Hallo to al my friends. Thanks so much for your Information's. I was ordering 2 Lifters from Strongarm 6156. I was getting them from Rock Auto. I replace both. So my Problem is still the same. The Tailgate opens about 10" an close again. I was testing it also at this way. I was unlock the Power Mode and try to test it manually. I can unlock the tailgate and then i lift it up. Ok . So i was close again my Tailgate. Switch back to power mode and then i was push the button on my remote the tailgate opens 10" and then i was helping by hand to lift and the gate goes up. At the open position i push the close button but the Tailgate getting up about an 1/2" and stays open. Dont wnt to close.
So what could it be? I cant believe that brand new lifters are not working ?
What else I recognize is that my tailgate release switch not always open if i touch my fingers on it. I have no idea how this switch works. I read that in normal way i touch this switch and getting an manually klick feedback and than it opens. But my switch feels like an sensor pad. I cant push anything. Often i have to try many times that the switch recognize my fingers. Could it be that this switch are defect and i would getting this problem. I have now idea what else could solve my Problem.

Greetings to all my Friends here Markus

The motor may be bad for automatic lift... behind the driverside plastic by the jack stowage.

Ok so this should be an expensive problem. It seems so because it would not close the tailgate. Is there an option that i can test it before is spend a lot of money for this ?

I would disconnect that power arm and just use it manually... no power lift.. for now
