I didn't. I dumped it into a clear container and it was nasty ass dirty. So I disposed of it. As as far as I know this is all original. I could not find an updated VC for this model and year. 2007 5.3 Tahoe LT 4WD.

On the plus side, you know your catch can is working and kept that crap out of your intake.

Were you doing a lot of heavy driving?

I put a genuine GM VC# 12570427 on mine, from amazon for $111.
The TSB says to install valve cover # 12570427 on 07-08, and valve cover # 12642655 on 09 and later engines ONLY. There is a *NOTE* stating "These rocker covers are for specific years. The PCV orifice is different for each. The correct cover must be used or an SES light may set". There is a lot more scary info in it. I suggest you read it thoroughly.

Yes apparently it is working very well. I baby this rig as much as possible.

89Surburban, you obviously need the valve cover, and you should probably do the rest of this Technical Servive Bulletin - TSB# 10-06-01-008M .I did it to my engine and it all is well now. I catch 1 oz every 6000 miles now. Before I did it, I was collecting 1 oz every 100 miles.

I appreciate the info. That is some good results. Are you high mileage like mine?

I am scared of scary info, I must find the time to read it though and be educated. What are your thoughts why this filled so fast?

Ok I need to find the time to read up on these and digest it, much appreciated.

On a positive note here is the new hose routing pic:

And I did a swab test of the dipstick on a rag to see what kind of residue it left behind:

@89Suburban the valve cover cut the oil consumption on my engine in half almost. The issue is that the OG valve covers have the inlet for the PCV right above one of the rockers. So when it goes into V4 mode the lifters shoot oil up the pushrod and it squirts into the PCV inlet, and gets sucked into the intake. The updated valve cover moves the inlet to the rear so it won't suck in the oil. My engine had 221,000 miles on it.

How do you have it plumbed? Input of catch can runs to where, valve cover or top of intake?
