Whats up guys!!!

Anyone have any experience with GForce/GF Performance Chips. They claim the following:
- Up to a 60 hp gain
- Fuel Mileage increase of 4-7 mpg
- Lower Emissions of 25-40%
(http://www.gfchips.com/)

I'm curious as to how effective these chips are. How safe they are for the car. And how easy is it to try it.

If you guys have had experiences with other chips as well, please chime in.

Thanks!

Henrik

sounds like a whole lot of too good to be true...
If you want a real tune go to Black Bear or a legit custom tuning shop

First there is no "chip" to be replaced in a 2000-06.
That is the pre 95 models. Given they sell Chips, and NOT flash programers, aka hypertech, diablo sport, etc.. They have nuthing for OBD2 vehicals.

Second their claims of "up to" just means you in the real world may only get 12hp increase for YOUR vehical.
Where a very poorly tuned vehical MIGHT see 60. I seriously doubt it tho.
So much so I will just say "hell NO" it wont give 60. thats in the realm of a True "dyno" tune and only by a very skilled tuner.

Gaining 4-7mpg!? HOLY HELL! there is only one way to get that mpg increase and its only in ONE PCM state, and that is "lean cruise" mode and thats pure highway mpg.
Given the way ppl drive. If you drove for 150 miles on the "standard" freeway through or around town, you would probly only see Lean cruise 20% of the time for a 2 hour drive..
There is way to much speed changes on out freeways..

I say its complete BS and is a scam 100%
Dont take this as me being a dick, but seriously, I dont know how ppl fall for that kind of crap.

With a 60HP gain, someone would need to have some major engine mods (ie. headers and cam) as a supercharger will net ~100-120HP.

ezdaar .. i feel ya man.. i was just shocked to see their claims and figured its nearly impossible to get those kinds of upgrades without any real hardware upgrades.

like JennaBear said, a supercharger barely gets 100bhp ...

wish there were more GM truck tuner shops like black bear in Los Angeles

We have dynos up in Temecula that Justin hits up about twice a month for tuning. Otherwise, we do inperson tunes down here in San Diego all the time.

He is only there a few times a month, and is by appt only. The street tune is $250 and a dyno tune would be $450. If you are interested in being contacted the next time he is headed that way, shoot an email to [email protected].
