did some searching before making this post.
To my understanding the black box is known to go out and i can currently lock my rear hatch nor open the glass...

i didnt find the part anywhere online under $220 however just came across this on ebay...
is it the part needed???
its listed as the rear liftgate lock/unlock actuator...

Did you figure out how to remove the old actuator? I can't get that off.

Mine wasn't working when I bought my Tahoe. Luckily the Lexus dealer I bought it from has exceptional customer service and resolved it for me even after the sale. I did a little research before I returned to the dealer and found this:

This thread lead me to this blog post which lead me to this part on eBay. The eBay seller has sold a crap ton of them. Mine was definitely a defective actuator(I troubleshot it myself) and not the work around mentioned in the blog post.

EDIT: and it's at this point that I realize this thread was dug up by bacano_2006 and it's over a year old. Oh well, maybe the above info will help the next digger.

My glass didn't work when I pushed the button but my hatch would lock/unlock.

I posted a thread in the tech/how-to section about shaving off a nub so it could slide. It's been perfect since I did that.

I have no idea why it was like that other than the goop around the button leading me to think it was broken into/jimmied at one time before I bought it.

However, there wasn't any sign of damage inside the hatch. Somehow it bent.

Here's the thread... http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50680
