GM/Brembo Performance brakes - thoughts + pics

There are plenty who will argue on here but I agree, the Brembos are worth every penny. I love them so much I had to buy another set for my wife’s.

I have the Big Brake package on my 2015 Denali. Word of warning. No one told me this when I ordered them or after having them installed. Your spare tire will not fit Over the Brembos . GM answer, (I found out the hard way! ) is to do a 2 tire change if the flat is in the front. So they even put out a service notice. Swap out the rear tire 1st with spare and take back tire to replace the front flat. I tried putting a 20in spare underneath but won’t fit as it’s molded for an 18. 20in is the smallest rim to fit over them. If I had known this not sure if I would have gotten them. Just a word of warning!

Guess I need to check this....but since I have a 2022 w/22" rims...wouldnt the spare tire as well be a 22"...thus would fit by default over the Brembos?

Well my 2015 had an 18in spare. I have 22s also. Check your spare

That just pushed me to go ahead and do the dual exhaust conversion on my 2008 and delete the spare.

There was a thread somewhere around here saying the spare is a 20", and did not fit on the 21+ with brembos

I have a 265/70/R17 as a spare in my 2015 Denali. Why wouldn't a 275/55/R20 not fit in the spare position? They are virtual identical in overall size.

I tried it barely fit but at 70 mph if created a bad vibration because it wouldn’t properly hit in the spot for the spare. i used a 20inch rim and tire combo

19" should be minimum... (although i have a StopTech BBK / 15" 6 pot, all 4 corners) i found out hard way too...
had a flat. had to put orig tire back on & over inflate it & crossed fingers i made it to dealer... which i did.
thankfully it was a slow leak

i then picked up a 22" transit rim w/ 305 ... fit perfect in spare location

not necessarily... my '15 came w/ 22s but had a 17" spare (which would fit OEM brakes)

Well my 2015 had an 18in spare. I have 22s also. Check your spare

Nice. Report back on % increase in brake dust after a week!

Reporting back, yep, absolutely more brake dust.
I've personally never worried about brake dust, sometimes superior results require a little more work.
