I have no idea how to direct message you so I thought I would just post something in a new thread. Just took my wife's '08 Tahoe in for the door actuators. They looked at me like I was crazy when I said that some dealerships are replacing them for free. So 65 diagnostic, $200 for labor and actuator. I only did one of the 3 doors that are broke. Basically the drivers door. My wife can deal with the problem. I have a hard time fixing door locks that cost 200 each when they are going to break again in a couple of years. Anything you can do for me? PM me and I'll send you the VIN number.

Thanks,

Chad

How many miles were on your ride? Was it really far out of warranty?

This is a common problem that GM recognizes, they should have worked with you on fixing all three. What a shame... :nono:

We have 81K on the tahoe but have owned it less than 3 years. Oh well. I'm already trying to find a local shop to fix the rest of them. I wish there was a video and I would try and fix them myself.

I just bought a saturn and it is one of the coolest vehicles I've owned. There is a video for every single problem that you can have with that car. When I have a problem I just look up the video, get the parts and fix it. Plus the parts are super, super cheap. I've spent more money on my wife's tahoe just today than I would in months for that saturn. Oh well.

if it's in the doors, you might ask a local stereo shop to do them for you,

they are very familiar with taking the doors apart.

....is your dash cracked....YET?

it's all good, most cars have some major defect

recurveman,

Thank you for reaching out to me. Since you only have 4 posts on the forum, I don’t think you can message me. However, if you would please send me your full name, address, phone number, VIN and mileage to [email protected], I would appreciate it. Please put attention Elizabeth in the subject line. I am going to forward this along to see if there is something we can do for you.

Thank you

Elizabeth, GM Customer Service
