show me where that is stated anywhere, that requires a data connection and therefore a onstar paid service
It’s not a data connection. The app on your smart phone will need to be signed into your mygm account. I don’t have a data plan on any of my rides. The app will have your vehicles associated with your mygm account when you use it.

i'll have to look into it, it's supposed to be on there every once in a while the truck will tell it's connected with limited services

Trying to see what the app has to offer but once I login, I get the attached. Always shows updating and if I click on the Get Connected...get the OnStar reference. Setup OnStar yesterday for reference.

Have you connected your GMC account with your onstar account? If so, I’d press the onstar button in your vehicle and ask them to verify your service is active and then very clearly inform the advisor that your connected access features are not enabled on your “myGMC” app.

What year is your ride?
18, I Called them before and said I wanted the connected services and they said they activated it, it does announce once in a blue moon over the radio that it is connected with limited services, but my online account I checked last night says it is not activated. At some point today I will try and figure it out

^Are you using the same email and same names between the onstar account and the app? Very frustrating, it feels like all these accounts and everything should be a little simpler of a process.

I finally got connected services working but I only see "remote fob" as being available under a paid account, what app are you using?
