GMC maps+. What’s the lowdown?

I just downloaded this and opened it up. It looks like it could be a little bit better than the native navigation. Some questions are, Can this be set up to be the default navigation when you push the navigation button? Can this app by chance read texts? ( I can only hope…) Also, sounds like it could possibly be controlled by Alexa while open to search for destinations.
I see it says on the GMC site that it is 1499 a month. I assume that is standalone. It also appears that it is included if you are a connected client of OnStar.

Anyone else’s insights or tips and tricks or anything that makes this any more of a value would be appreciated. I might try it for a while, but if I don’t like it might just delete it.

Must only be available for 2021, nothing like that in the Google play store (makes sense since we go Google maps native on the 22+)

Could be, Need to play with it more. Not sure if it's a winner or not.....
