My Tahoe is lowered on a 2/4 Belltech, the wheels I ordered nearly 2 months ago (Gloss Black Esky Replicas) are in and I am just double checking what tire size I should go with... 295/35R24 or 305/35R24? I would love the wide footprint of the 305s but how much cutting/grinding is going to be required for them not to rub? That's a question for both sizes, how much are they going to rub with the truck being lowered, and where?

Thanks! Guy at the shop informed me that the trimming is not that bad, so I am going with the 305s!

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN A 285 VS 305 BESIDES BEING WIDER ? does it make a differance in towing or driving / handling just looking in to getting 22" and the wondering what is better.
thanks

Ive ridden on both (now riding on 295) and I must say I like 295 better... The rubbing from 305 was really annoying. I was too lazy to every trim anything so it just constantly annoyed me. With 295s I barely even rub full lock. Still had to trim in the rear a little, but its pretty much rub free :)

Glad the wheels finally are on there way Austin.. Cant wait to see pics!!

Obviously, the width. Additionally, at speed, the wider profile, assuming sidewall is the same, bulges outward and increases the rolling circumfrence, essentially gearing you down slightly. This does impact braking ability. It is advised that you don't go bigger, or smaller, than 3% the stock rolling diameter. It is believed that doing so could result in brake failure. Also, larger means less fuel economy, and smaller means more. Bigger also means slower acceleration, while smaller does the opposite. I recommend going to www.1010tires.com and using the tire calculator to find out which size is best for you. I also recommend that for every 20mm wider you go, shrink the sidewall by 5mm in order to help stay within the 3% tolerance.

This is all I know. Please consult an engineer if you have any more specific questions.
