Anyone have any recommendations for a legit and proficient and professional car audio installer in the New England area? Preferably CT, MA, RI, or NH. I’ve had a lot of mixed results over the years and looking for pros who will do the job professionally and fairly. Thanks!

There is nothing that is really special about these vehicles. The head unit and speakers can be done in minutes with a socket and screwdriver. How much of an install are you looking for?

No offense to anyone here, but I don't think this is a good place to ask. Only because I doubt you will get more than one person reviewing the same place. You should search some car audio forums, where people who do it as a passion know more than the shop employees.

Caraudio.com Is a good start.
the12volt.com has an incredible amount of information if you want to spend the time to learn about so many things.

There are a lot more, (I haven't been to in a while, and don't remember). I had a really bad experience with a shop. Even if you are certain you don't want to tackle it yourself, if we know what you are getting done we can help you with questions to make sure you ask.

I was going to have Sounds Incredible Mobile in Connecticut work on my VW because I heard good things. Decided it wasn’t worth the $$$. Look them up.

Check out Audioworks in Milford, CT. I actually used to work there and am still friends with their installer. If you're closer to Norwalk, CT I can do most stereo installs and custom work myself. If it's remote start I'd still send you to Audioworks though. I even send my cars to him. PM me if you'd like to talk and I can show you some of my work.

If you are willing to drive to southern NH, I recommend Boomer Nashua (5 Executive Park Dr, Merrimack, NH 03054 https://www.nh-car-audio.com/). They've been in business for over 20 years, and they have supplied components and/or performed custom audio installations on 12 vehicles for my extended family, and counting. They are not cheap, and they won't haggle with you on price, or price compete with other audio supplier/installer competitors. But, they sell high end audio components, they are fair, they perform outstanding out-of-the-box and custom work, and they warranty their installation work for the life of your vehicle.

Sure, I could perform the work myself, and it is fairly easy to perform this work on these vehicles, as AD stated above. I did all of my own audio system work in my younger years, but at this point in my life, I have other more pressing priorities for my available time.

Based on the above description and business model, if you decide to have a conversation with Boomer Nashua, specifically ask for Jamie, the owner, and feel free to use my name as a reference.

I went to YouTube lol did my radio and pac harness myself. If/when I do new speakers/subs I'll do that myself as well

But I have a friend that lives in Ma I'd have to check where he works but he does great audio work. I know he worked at a best buy for a while and would do whatever kind of install the customer wanted (to include custom stuff) I'll see if I can pull up his Instagram page

Here it is https://instagram.com/jayinthebay1461?utm_source=ig_profile_share&igshid=z0h5uyfklyjv

If you talk to him send me a message I'll give you my name I have known him since I was a kid

YouTube has served me very well on a lot of work in the driveway. Electrical stuff is where I draw the line on self help, for the most part!

Very true! Just because you saw it on the Internet/YouTube, does not mean that it is true or correct.
