the heater core has plastic Ts at the firewall. they seem to break at the worst time and you don't know till it's to late. it happens to pretty much all of them if you don't know to change them ahead of time. so over heated engine damage is pretty common.

that said, these 6.2 heads seem to drop seats too. so it's a crap shoot as to what happened first. I don't know that I've seen anyone blame the dropped seats on any one thing. Just a gm (general mistake) thing. they did aot of things to make one of the most bullet proof engines have random failures along its production run.
