I have a 2007 1500 Suburban with a 5.3 that has 199458 miles on it. Looking at upgrading some components when I change the valve cover to try and eliminate the oil consumption. Going to have the heads worked on and replace lifters with ls7's and new pushrods. What other mods do any of you recommend? I'm also fixing to upgrade my wheels to 20x9s with 33s and install a 2.5" leveling kit up front and 1" in the rear so a little more power would be nice to have but I'm not looking to race.

Are you running stock tire size currently? If you are you might want to bump the gearing up a little in the future. Going up in tire size without upping the gears also puts a little extra strain on the drivetrain. Might see lower mpg and feel like you didn't gain anything with the other mods without regearing. I went from 245 76 16 to 33s once on a truck I had. I had an intake exhaust and some other basic stuff getting 18mpg and was getting a noticeable better power band when shifting. When I went to 33s it dropped to 15mpg and felt sluggish until I went to 4.10 gears.

I'm running stock 17s and my tires are 31.5s. Thinking about a tuner to adjust shifting and delete admit. Haven't thought about gears.

Regearing isn't thought about a lot when lifts and bigger tires are added. Common forgotten upgrade or ignored upgrade as unless you know how to properly do it or have someone do it for you it can get pricey at some shops.
