Santa Claus was good to me this year, and left me some universal gift certificates (AKA cash! :D ). I was also able to sell some extra stuff I had laying around to get a little more moola.

That allowed me to purchase a set of Bushwacker OEM style fender flares, some Flowmaster exhaust parts, and to score a like-new Westin brush guard off Craigslist! Woot woot!! I'm stoked. I've been waiting a while to spruce up my Tahoe.

I've had a 3.5" custom exhaust system laying in the garage for a few years now. I still needed an upgraded crossover pipe and downpipe for the turbo in order to make the system complete. Flowmaster hooked me up. Plus, I also purchased a 6.5L parts truck that has a better flowing intake manifold and airbox. Together this should help my 6.5L really breathe a lot better.

Now, I just need to find some time to get all this stuff installed.....

Yeah, I love Craigslist. I've bought and sold many things there now. The Westin guard (just like you had) only set me back $150, and it looks brand new!!

I really have no idea why GM put the 6.5TD in the 2-door Tahoe/Yukons, but not the 4-door ones. I really don't understand it. I'm thinking someday I'll have to get a 6.5TD donor truck and start swapping parts to make one fit in the engine bay of a 4-door.

Someday...

I know, I would love to have a 4 door Tahoe with the diesel. It'd be a lot easier to get my kids in and out of, that's for sure!!

You can get a diesel Suburban, but that's just too long of a vehicle for me to drive every day.

GM did some weird things....

unknown at this time.
from wiki:

This engine was never meant to be a power and torque competitor with Ford/International and Dodge/Cummins, but rather a simple designed workhorse engine that made credible power, achieved decent fuel economy and met emissions standards in half-ton trucks.

Good for those who tow by themselves without a lot of passenger space needed. It makes up for the payload you might add in the cabin/cargo space.
