Grill Molding help

Hey guys I am trying to paint my grill black and was wondering how you remove the grill molding piece on the hood? Is it just the clips going through or is there glue or anything behind it?

Ok so I was trying to take off the actual grill on truck does anyone know how to do it on a 2011 yukon? I was looking at it but it looks like there are only four of the plastic push pins but they have a square insert in the top of them if I buy the tool for them will they just twist out or do I just need to pull them out?

I think there's about 6 tabs like that. you can get to them all if you have a plastic pry tool and take your time.
