Grinding noise

Your intake manifold is plastic and on top of your motor. I have never heard of one rattling. If it was, you would have a myriad of codes.

The stamped heat shields on the exhaust manifolds can rattle as well.


Nope. Not seeing any signs of wear from the starter in that photo.

So I guess I could rule out the starter Bendix.

Symptoms I’m having is rough idle/stutter, doesn’t seem to affect rpm’s, then that grinding noise and sometimes weird shifts. Trans doesn’t over heat tho and fluid is good and full.
