Yes i realize this now, im just gonna go with the 383 and swap the head over from my vortec. Now ffs dont tear me apart for this but from what ive been seeing it appears easier to adapt the vortec fuel delivery system and get the computer re tuned to run the 383. I dont know if any of you have done this swap before but if you have any info or tips would be greatly appreciated. I also feel like im about to get in shit for going into detailed engine discussion in general disscusion

Your asking for more problems which equal more money. I agree it'll probably be much cheaper to fix the Tahoe than buy a new truck, especially a used Duramax. But you'd probably be better to build another Vortec 350, maybe pop some goodies like roller rockers and headers on it with a tune and call it a day. If everyone says the injectors can't handle much more power than its probably not worth it. A fresh 350 will no matter what run better than what you've had.

you do have a good point matt and i do love the 350 theres absolutely nothing wrong with them but ive always wanted to try a 383 and this seems like the pefrect time to do one seeing as how theres no rush or anything like that i can take my time and do it right.

Yes but the fuel system is kinda set where its at. Everyone seems to think its limits aren't much higher than the stock setup. This is just what rumor, perhaps its not completely true. In that case, by all means. Just trying to steer you in a practical direction. The 4L60e should be able to handle anything around that hp anyways too. Unless its tired.

Bowtiefreak is running a 383 in his 2 door still on stock fuel pump I believe but I think he said somewhere it was right at the limit of what the fuel system can handle. Any more and more fuel is required.

unknown at this time.
the FI system can handle a 383 even tuned to deliver more fuel to said engine. would not hurt to make sure you got good pressure from your existing pump.
