To those people that take their whole dash apart just to fix the actuator, you are better people than me. Lol.
I inspected the heater core while engine was running, all good, actually looks like a newer piece. So I wasn't about to tear into a 24 year old plastic dash to change one simple part. I took my sawzall and cut it. Indexed the new one, screwed the piece I cut off to the new one and JB welded it for extra support. It doesn't take much effort to open the recirculation door so should be fine with one screw and placement pin on top of my JB welded piece. Works good as new!
I did find a cracked gear on the old one.
Interior is back together. Still have to do work in under the hood. I plan on doing a rear AC block off.
