Hey guys, just looking for input/ideas. Tried searching the internet but its like wading around in a cesspool looking for a diamond ring. Heres the scenario. OBS Tahoe (2000 Z71, 5.7 OBS). Sometimes hop in and get nothing more than a click. Happened yesterday morning, luckily I have another vehicle to get to work. -14 degrees last night here in MN and needless to say having a vehicle I bought specifically for the winter not starting concerns me. Im good on battery and cables and connection because this morning it started right up. To the best I can figure out its got something to do with the OEM alarm system or ignition switch. Sometimes if I get back out of the car and rearm the lock with the remote and open it again then it will start. Im not sure of the magic combination, because yesterday it didnt work any way I tried it.

Any ideas where to begin?

I would check a couple things when it happens
1. if the "Security" is flashing could be faulty ignition switch and or housing if so try the 10 minute relearn
2. dead spot on starter
3. funky battery
4. maybe just ignition switch

Thanks for the input! Im starting to wonder if it might be solenoid/starter related myself. This morning it was -15 here and I got the dreaded click again at 6AM, but 2 hours later tried it again and it cranked right over fine. Seems odd to me.
