My friend is selling me a set of tires that are a 305 70 r16 for my 95 chevy tahoe just wanna make sure they clear? I'm sure they will rub a little and my torsion bars are maxed out.

i'm running a 285/65/18 with nitto trail grappler ( they run .7" wider than most 285 tires which would equate them to most 305 tires) which equals out to a 33x12 with a 5.7" backspace the fronts stick out less than a half inch past fender, so assuming you're running a stock 16" with 4.5 backspace, your new tires will sit about 2" past the fender. The diameter of the tires should be no problem, the only rub would be on the front bumper. Turning your wheel and measuring 2" out should be able to tell you if you risk rubbing. Although someone running a stock wheel or stock backspace may be able to give you a first hand experience at running a 305/70. Good luck

They will rub most likely . . .

I agree. I installed 285/75r16's on my 96 Yuk. I had rubbing in the rear deflectors that I "adjusted" out. I also had a bad jounce stop that let my right front get into the fender opening on a steep spot.

if you run stock wheels they will fit, but they will rub over bumps and so on. crank teh bars up a bit and a little saw work and they'll be good
