I went in before my trip down to Florida to get my oil changed and some other things looked at. Normally I wouldn't go here, but my dad said he would pay for it. When I got down here a message came up that the battery wasn't charging and to have the brake booster serviced. Last year I had the same thing and had to get a new alternator and computer. Well it turns out I needed a new battery and alternator. And on top of that, the oil filter and air filter that jiffy Lube gave me were the wrong ones. The oil filter was a different one so it would only fit in backwards. The air filter was a HEPA filter so it was pointless. Luckily the Chevy dealer in North Palm Beach is top notch and my alternator was under warranty.

I am however planning on raising hell at the Jiffy Lube at home for the ******** they pulled on me

You'll never even get an apology out of them. They historically do shotty maintenance and for some reason they're still in business. But good luck and let us know how it goes.

They probably meant backwards on the threads....maybe?? And a similar thing happened to me with a Champion Oil Lube place. They broke a valve stem, tried to blame it on me (when I wasn't even near the truck when they were checking the air pressure), and tried to use some ****** conventional oil when I paid for synthetic. The only time I take it to a lube place (because I didn't have time to do it myself before my long trip) and they do a ****** job. After they broke the valve stem I stood near the truck as they finished it up. That is the only reason they got caught trying to put some ****** oil in my truck. This was in my old '93 sierra.

I have no idea, thats just what the service guy at the dealer said.

Obviously the dealer is taking you for a ride and knows he can milk you for some big $$. There are no oil filters on the market that are reverse threaded, nor is there anyway they can put an oil filter in backwards on these trucks. The only thing they can do is put the wrong size filter on it. If I were you, I'd get my truck the hell out of there as fast as possible and find someone honest to deal with if you are unable to do the work yourself..

Yeah I mean it's pretty clear I don't know what I am doing. At school I have a place i mostly trust but I would like to do it myself at some point
