Back into the GM family of products now for 1 month and I either have buyers remorse, got a bad vehicle, or GM is just really as bad as everyone says. (or somewhere in the mix of all three). Regardless one thing wrong- no biggie. 2 things wrong and i start thinking out loud to family and friends. 5 things all being looked at are down right concerning.

First off, the good. Price. Paid what I think was a incredible cost point for a vehicle of this size, features and looks/performance. Could not be happier.

Second, dealer/service team. Spectacular folks who have went out of their way to ensure satisfaction, happiness and desire to make everything right.

Issue one, from day one temp controls in the dual zones. my SLT at 69 degrees blows cooler air, hit 70 on the panel and it goes from cool to hot. There is basically zero differnece in temp from 70 to 80, then HI goes to the equivalent of Weld... They have looked at it and are flummoxed. My wife is going thru menopause and is suddenly a guru of all things temperature... :) In all seriousness, she drives a SLT Acadia. We have parked BOTH vehicles in our garge and put them on 72 degrees- there is a HUGE difference in hers to my air temp. 72 in her car is where it should be. 72 in mine is like the sahara on July 1st- HOT

Issue two, the rear roof vents in the vehicle keep falling out of the roof panels. its a pretty simple fix but they don't rotate within the ring itself and when you turn them they fall out of ceiling. Minor in the big picture but... really?

Issue three, hard shifting in low gears while operating at slow speeds in parking lots or other slow moving areas, under 10 MPH. It really hits shifting from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd. they have reprogramed something on it once, it did not help? (it started doing this last week) (about 800 miles on vehicle) (wander if this ties into issue 5 below?)

Issue four, (my grumble, not anything GM can do now) the HD radio lag in getting stations is nuts. My wife has a 2014 Acadia SLT and they radio/tuning is spot on perfect 100% of the time and this Yukon is was different? (not really fair to hit them in this area, but its pretty awful.

Issue five, the final issue to make me question this purchase? Last night going to dinner had a vehicle full of folks, 7 passengers full. Backing out of the parking spot it seemed 4 wd was engaged. you know that binding/grinding tire sound on dry pavement thats horrible. Anyhow the vehicle dash then popped up with Service4 wheel drive light on info center.
I was in Auto. I tried going to 2 wheel drive. Tired 4 low, 4 hi. None of the lights on the selector switch lit up other than auto. On-Star was of no help- at ALL.

Fortunately I "know" my sales guy and texted him of my issue, he was out with guys from the dealership and had a tech call me right then at the parking lot I was sitting in (now thats service). We worked thru it with a few suggestions and no go- it was in what we assume 4 Hi. I had to drive home 68 miles like this. straight was fine, turns were pretty nasty.

I am sure it's some goofy switch? Maybe a software thing? but with 964 miles on the clock I'd expect none of these issues? I love my vehicle- but is this the ride I am in for the next 100,000 miles? Anyone else have issues this early in ownership?

Been there . . . done that. :( It's a software thing. First time my LTZ had the transfer case software updated, it was a recall. Since then, about every 1000 miles, the 'Service 4WD' light has come on with the transfer case locked in 4 Hi . . . in each case I had to drive from 30 to 60 miles to the dealer. Not fun when 4WD is locked in and you cannot shift out of it. :Nonono:

In each case the Chevrolet technician hooked a laptop computer to the LTZ and ten minutes later, the transfer case software was updated. Problem solved, for the time being. Technician admitted Chevrolet kept changing the software and the last update (issued October 17) seems to be holding. The dealer and his people are trying hard . . . they just have not had much cooperation from Chevrolet so I contacted Chevrolet and they're not much help either. All they did was refer me to the dealer and they actually had the dealer contact me . . . made an appointment for November 21 to check out the entire system to see if there is anything else that can be done. :Handshake:

So, I have had the truck back to the dealer four times to fix this problem. November 21 will be the fifth trip . . . but at least it's OK for the time being. Still, I have no assurance the fix is gonna' last.

Hope your luck is better! :hmmm2:

I would just give the truck back. You're going to have more problems...

Not sure to whom this is intended, but . . . isn't that a little easier said than done?

Besides, I like my Tahoe . . . except for this nagging problem which I feel sure Chevrolet can fix. Dilemma is how long will it take . . . ??

Not really. 3 repair attempts for the same problem? They should put you into another one. Is this a 2015i or a 2015? There are some 2015s with the infamous "Service 4WD" message that still haven't gotten resolved. Simply clearing a fault code by the GM computer isn't fixing the problem. They just ginea pigging a solution..nothing permanent is known. I believe the 6.2L 2015i transfer cases haven't had that problem occur.

First model year will always have bugs.

Obviously true . . . appreciate the words of wisdom. :Nonono:

That said, seems obvious that Chevrolet would be able to fix this problem within a few weeks . . . not true.

And, most of those here try to help others . . . my suggestion to you is to either do that or :STFU:

Its sitting at the dealer now and they said they will hit it first thing when they open Monday. I appreciate their help. AND I appreciate the comments here too.

Giving it back? Yeah, that's a whole can of worms I have done once before. It was ugly for all involved. I had a water leak/intrusion problem on a Chevy Avalance that went on for over 30K miles. I'll avoid anything to ever re-live that experience again-

I love the vehicle- and I'll hope this is a one time thing-

Hope the dealer gets it squared away for you Monday. Worse thing about this problem is not knowing if the 'fix' is really going to last. I'm looking forward to my appointment next Friday . . . hope the dealer will be able to offer some assurance it will not happen again. :boti:

Let us know what your dealer says . . . I'll be sure to post an update after my appointment next Friday.

Just got my vehicle back from Dealer. Talked to the tech, he said it was a known service bulletin that the Transfer case NEEDS reprogrammed.

*Reprogrammed TCM (cause)
Conducted Transfer Case Control Module Reprogramming with SPS

In talking to the tech, said he has done 3 of these so far and expects that all of them just need it done.... I am in the software industry, I am SURE this is the same when we release Windows *** to the buying public knowing a critical patch needs done asap, but profits before products! Sigh
