That's what I asked (slightly different scenario than what you described) and he said 'that's a good question, you'd probably be put on a list with a backlog until the wheel becomes available to purchase as an accessory'
Yes, i hope you portrayed it in a non sexually explicit way unlike me apparently.

And that sounds like a typical ‘i have not the slightest clue’ answer from the dealer. 100,000 dollar truck that i can’t get fixed because we’ve got to wait for this rim to become an accessory? And when will that be? 1 month, 1 year, 3 years? OK, GM.

Yes, I'm in agreement with you and also confused as to why you can't buy these through GM directly.

Having said that, has the dealer gone out of the way, for you, to close a sale? If so, what did they do?

Yes, several times!

Salesman went over to where truck was being detailed (off site) and took photos of everything I asked for. They did $2500 in repairs and maintenance that I did not ask for. The owner showed up on Saturday to welcome my children and thank them for their business. He knew they were driving 2500 miles home. Wackerli GMC in Idaho Falls.

On the next truck, flew my wife and daughters out to Oklahoma City to pick up another one and drive it back. They put on new KO2s to close the deal. There was no welcome mat like the first time but the trip went well and the truck was in excellent condition too. Ferguson GMC in Oklahoma City.

Have had others go out of their way to get information on trucks we didn't ultimately purchase. Was so impressed that I keep them in mind and recommend them whenver necessary. The Lord provides.

That's how you earn business. Not necessarily saying dealers have to do everything you described, but being nice and honest goes a long way. The last few months I've been talking to dealers and I hate how some of them never change, one guy tried to tell me that dealers often lie about pricing (which is accurate) but the example he decided to use was that the price of the vehicle is a lowered MSRP cost, plus a paint protection plan, plus underbody coating, plus, blah blah blah to which I replied 'those are add-ons, those aren't options that I need to buy, those are dealer add-ons' and then he changed the subject. I left a few minutes after that.

Because as @PPV_2018 has just pointed out GM has thought it’s ok and acceptable to charge $100K for an SUV with no regard or provisions for the level of dealership knowledge or service should be to go along with said $100K Trucks/SUV’s.

And why should they? People keep buying don’t they?

(I digress, not intended to derail the thread.)

IMO I do think that’s the part number. It’s just too new to register or come up in any GM OEM part system; A GM part process problem. Why else would that number be stamped in the back?

If it were me and you were dead set on those rims. I’d buy/order your ‘25 and keep tabs on eBay for brand new take offs for much cheaper than from a dealer. And also available now to purchase despite what the dealer is telling you.

I am able to find vehicles with the 24s from the factory, but there are many more options with 22s and much, much closer to me.

I don't need a vehicle tomorrow, but I don't want to custom order.
