Who cares about ‘proving yourself’....don’t you want all of the extras you can have if when money is no object? I bought a Denali because I wanted the extra HP and features not to prove anything....

Edit: though now that I’m thinking about it...I DIDNT buy the Escalade because it felt garish. Maybe you’re right after all lol

Isn’t the Denali the most popular trim anyways? I think its great bang for your buck compared to anything else on the market, especially since the price delta versus an SLT is worth it for the engine alone.

Wouldn’t say I’m a full time baller, but I do like nice things. Also not everyone that spends money on “shiny” things are trying to prove something. And not everyone with a subdued car is a “secret millionaire”. I have had Escalades for the last 9 years. I buy them Bc I love them. I didn’t buy them to show off, I didn’t spend an extra 10-20k for a badge. I spent that money because I wanted the additional features. I’ve been driving luxury cars since I was 18, so yes I want every bit of technology available in my budget. When I saw the Denali didn’t have a 360 cam, and the Tahoe’s do not have front camera’s. I didn’t want them. When I saw they had analog gauges, and standard halogen lights, it was an easy decision to spend the extra bucks on the Escalade. I could easily buy a land cruiser or even lx570, hell I cross shopped the Lexus. But at the time the lx570 just had an update, and the over 100k price tag wasn’t easy to swallow considering it has less power, and polarizing exterior. People buy cars Bc they like them, and not everyone wants a hideous car that will last 30 years. Hell I’ll be lucky if I get 5 years out of my Escalade, I don’t want an “old” car, and like phones and laptops, technology ages quick

The Land Cruiser has been around for a number of years, essentially unchanged. However, there was a large refresh in 2016 on the body and the interior.

Some of the appeal of the LC is its timeless aging. In fact, the older a LC gets, the better it looks, if properly maintained. Re-sale reflects this as well.

Tahoe/Yukon is in the same arena re classic styling. They have done body changes over the years, of course, However, nothing overly significant. Also if well cared for, the Tahoes, etc., age very well.

The only exception is the Escalade. Just as the nature of an Escalade, it seems to date the most based on its trendier styling on the exterior and interior. Not a bad thing, just more flash which tends to be ever-changing in style.

I couldn't agree more. Here is my wife's 2003 LC 171K and just getting broken in

Exactly! That front camera (part of the 360 camera system) is so useful on my LWB when parking in tight garages like I do daily. I love the digital dash and configurable MRC too for a smooth ride. Massage and mini-fridge ain’t bad either, lol. Worth every penny.

Coming from a 4Runner and looking for a decent 3rd row I cross shopped the LC. The third row swing away configuration and poor gas mileage turned me off right away. The 4runner I traded in had plenty of life left in it but interior-wise I found the creature comforts were drab, depressing and outdated. I got the same interior vibe from the Sequoya.

All Toyota SUVs are like that, including the LC. Old technology, old engine tech (poor mileage).

The 3rd row in the LC is definitely frustrating compared to the Tahoe. However if you don’t have a true need for the 3rd row, you can pop them out pretty quickly.
