Started by some ***** running into my truck at longterm parking at the airport. Bent the rear bumper and dented the rear corner panel. Cost $1200 in repairs I go to pick it up and now the passenger side window wont go up. Worked fine when I dropped it off. They took the door panel off and said there was a frayed cable that operates the window. They said they would fix it at cost. They said this happens alot to these vehicles, has any one else experienced this?

Yeah, it seems to be a fairly common problem. Its most likely just a coincidence that it went out while at the shop.

Ya I'm thinking it was just bad timing on there part. Its like selling a perfectly good car to your best friends daughter, odds are the tranny or engine will go. Shit happens

I had the passenger one die on me (on a road trip)
ended up that the window motor/rollers ate up (shreaded) the cable
it's all a one piece assembley.
it cost like $300 at the dealer (they let me park it inside that night, and had it back to me by 10am the next day)
they said it's fairly common, and normally happens around 90-100K miles, and usually the driver door first.

I guess the part is like $100-150 and it's pretty easy
(but I had no tools with me)

I just had the driver door die on me this morning FML :(
I'm trying to find a writeup on how to replace it.
