Has anyone swapped to a higher ratio roller rocker?

yeah i mentioned in another thread that it was kinda like going from a good condition stock l31 with no issues to adding the k&n 57-3013-2 fipk to it. it now feels like a k& unit times 2. tho just a tad bit more. my thought is this, if you can get about 10hp per every $200-250 you are in a good price range. my kn cost 218, 0411 pcm was 160, rockers are 185, still need to tune for about 260 and my headers going on soon were 400. of course the headers normally cost almost 700 and do about 22+hp by themselves. efans help too but i did not have to pay for the flexilite 280 setup or kn or the complete msd system(except the dizzy i payed for)with my money. i got lucky with price of the headers.

It is my policy to correct misinformation on my part. The rockers were not like adding a Kn fipk on a 350
Vortec, I am hereby claiming THE FULL MONTY on this one. And if you call :bs: on this I will call :bs: on your :bs:. :Sumo:

ok, so its not like a k&n fipk. So what is your conclusion? Is this still a good mod to do? Is it still a good seat of the pants gain or what?

i have new comp cams 1.52 www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00062Z8MM/ that i will put in this weekend if i get up off my ass and take a break from helping you lot. i have used 1.6's for sale for $75 on ebay but did not use them because the pushrod holes on my new heads needed to be elongated to prevent push rod rubbing. no time or resources to do it at the time late 2011. and now that the heads are on i really dont want to take them off to do the holes just for the 1.6's tho EZDAAR will tell you it can be done with out removing them.

would you recommend the above mentioned sets on a 96 with 240K miles on it? without doing anything else to it?

YES! tho a kn fipk will help them a bit. the filter helps but the ducting of the kit helps as well. has a "cammy" type of induction noise and exhaust noise that would stand out more with a vehicle application specific cat back kit. i have a flowmaster kit with a 50 series mufller on it. and there was a difference in sounding for sure when i installed them. can only imagine what it would sound like if i had left the the hack jobbed 40 series on it.
