Absolutely. That's a nice looking vehicle. A little more competition in this market should provide some much-needed incentive.
Agree. I love my Denali but it's got, literally, no meaningful competition right now.

Looks like it's happening on the 17's too. From the buffeting and vibration Facebook page on this issue:

"My 2017 Yukon has vibration & buffeting. It starts at 48 mph up to about 60 mph. It actually makes me carsick. The dealer tried a few things, but it's still there. He's ordering new tires & plans on doing something with the suspension. He'll be doing the next step in a few weeks."

I wife and I test drove a 2017 Yukon SLT yesterday and it too had the buffeting and vibration problem and when I told the dealer about it he played dumb and stated that no one has ever complained about that. Just trying to sell vehicles I guess. Shame on GM for letting this problem continue on for 3 years. I think I'll wait til the 2018 Yukons come out and also look at the new Ford Expedition that is scheduled to come out this fall.

It seems tires CAN be a big component of this issue. I have the continentals (and blizzacks in Winter) and have no issues (yet). The Michelins they come with seem to be very sensitive to balancing.

You could consider leasing one? Then you aren't stuck with it if it develops the issue over time.

'They' come with Bridgestones from the factory, no? And the Bridgestones are terrible. Michelins are fantastic, certainly the 22" Defenders on my '16 Denali have transformed the ride and handling.

I really think tire size makes a huge difference. I have 18's on my 2016 LT Suburban. Yes, bland 18's. However I have no booming or buffeting issues. The truck is a dream ride at 60 mph+ and I'm looking forward to many family vacations in it. I do however have the dreaded V4 vibration issue between 30-55 mph, which is solved by driving in M5 mode, which disables AFM.

It's been well documented that these trucks in all wheels sizes have had the issue. Of course the larger wheel size makes balancing a bigger issue. I've had 18", 20", and 22" and they all buffeted. i ended up sticking with 20" with new michelins and it helped dramatically, however, 10k miles later and it might be due for another balancing as it seems to be creeping back. The low speed booming is very annoying but the buffeting is the deal breaker.

At this point, we are one looking to trade-in our 15 XL for the 18 expedition this summer if it seems solid in person. Unfortunately, I have all but given up on the Yukon/suburban.

We agree. I wasn't clear.

I was making the point that the issues commonly seen in the TAHOE/YUKON/ESKY are not generally common issues found in other truck makes.

This isn't just GM 'working out common first year bugs'. It's a pervasive flaw/issue that led to bad press and high buyback rates.

I've had two 2015 Tahoes, a 2016 Tahoe and a 2017 Tahoe and have not had an issue with any of them. In fact I just ordered another 2017 Tahoe. Best trucks that I gave ever owned bar none!!

My Yukon SLE is a early 2015 model year build:
Since having my vehicle at the dealer in January 2015 (19 Days) the service department has completed the roof cross member re-attachment, road force balanced, alignment, new drive shaft, then new wheels and tires. The pressure/thumping noise was heard by the technicians and the service manager after all of the above things were done. The vehicle was back at the dealer in February 2015 for 11 days. The dealer had the zone area service manager come and drive the vehicle, he felt the pressure. Then the service concern was escalated with GM service and an engineer was assigned to the case. He came out and drove the vehicle with me and the service manager. He heard the thumping and felt the pressure. As soon as we got back, he contacted the plant in TX and had a new Ring and Pinion sent directly to the dealership. After the tech replaced the ring and pinion the thumping/pressure is basically gone. The old ring and Pinion had excessive wear and uneven wear on the teeth. The engineer decided to put a set of Michelin tires on due to some road noise/drone after everything else. They are still dealing with one related issue. When switching into Auto 4WD or 4WD High, the thumping/pressure concerns come back. The tech and engineer are going to check the front axle and transfer case next week. I have to tell you that the service dept. and the GM technical service group have been very helpful and have been trying to attack the issues. I will update again after they investigate the Transfer Case/Front axle issues....... They replaced the front Ring and Pinion and all the thumping/pressure went away. I haven't had any issues since February 2015........... Alex
