have my torsion bars been installed wrong?

hi fellas. owned this truck for only a week. first thing i noticed was that the ride was very stumpy. it seemed way to low at the front, so cranked the torsion up just till the bumpers touched the bump stops.

but i actually had to bottom out the driver side nut, and the passenger side got a lot to go on.

check these pics, notice the mark is vertical on the pass. side, and almoust horizontal on the driver side. have the torsion bar been replaced/reinstalled wrong by PO?

should they have been "aligned", both sides vertical?

It sounds like you got a bad torsion bar to me. My torsion bar was the same way and I took it to a local 4x4 shop where a friend works at and he told me over time the torsion bar will wear out and loss it's tension now that is not saying that is you problem but it is worth checking out
