Who here has done this themselves? I recently changed my oil pressure sensor and went to change out filter and could not feel one down there. I did not removing anything so clearance was tight and could not see down the port hole. I was wondering who has done it and how far "down" the filter sits. I stuffed a 3-4" long pick down the threaded sensor hole and never did feel anything...

Thoughts? Should I have felt something and the fillter sits up top? Perhaps someone pulled it to try to alleviate another problem? I

Use a small pick tool to get it out. Mine was filthy. There should be one in there unless someone else took it out..

I am thinking someone else took it out. I tried to use a normal length pick and never found a filter. I bottomed the length of pick out on the threads for the sending unit so it was inserted into the hole a good 3-4 inches... the valve lifter filter sits RIGHT below the sending unit correct? As in I would have felt it if I sent a pick in there that far?

Here was my post from April:

Driving home today I noticed I didn't have oil pressure and the check engine light was on. I pulled into Auto Zone and they scanned it for me. Seems I had the P0523 code. While there I picked up a new sensor. I then stopped by my Chevy dealership and picked up the little filter screen that goes under the sensor. I got home and had it fixed in no time. It's a little tricky because you have to crawl up into the engine bay and work blindly behind the engine. Here are a few pictures of the broken sensor and the tools I used. I repaired it without having to remove the manifold. Its not to bad to repair, just don't drop any tools while back there.
