I have JBA stainless shortie headers and I can't get rid of this annoying leak between the header and the head. I've exhausted my knowledge in this area. I've tried different brand gaskets, Ive checked the header for flatness, I've torqued them, re-torqued,them, hot cycle, cold cycle etc. I'm thinking of disconnecting them from the collector or at least loosening them and then torque them. They always start off quieter with the new gasket but, it always comes back. Is there a really good gasket out there? What do you guys recommend?

Not sure what to recommend, but I had JBA coated shorties before & the gaskets that came with the headers never leaked. Since you've checked the headers for flatness, how about the mounting surface?

I'm using Felpro gaskets now, from summitt. IMO the bolts aren't loosening. Very little if any and I mean very little.

have you thought of cutting each flange, between the front tube, and between the 3-4th?

No but, it's a thought. I think I'm gonna try loosening the collector and torqueing the header first and then re-tighten the collector first. After that, I must admit cutting that flange does sound like it might work. I'll give it some thought. Thanks. I wonder how difficult it is to cut that stainless steel flange?

biggest issue will be taking them back out, but also use Stage 8 header bolts, keeps them from backing out.
