Good afternoon, I have a 95 Tahoe im planning on doing headers, I know I should prolly go with longtubes but we have emission testing here well im due in a few month's then its good for two years some im either gonna run longtubes and ditch the cat or just throw on some shorty headers.....I have looked at jegs and summit for headers whats a good brand to go with? and whatever I end up getting im gonna get it ceramic coated, and is there that big of a difference power wise between shorty and longtubes...thanks for the help

wait til testing is done, then do longtubes. ******, Pacesetter, etc all make good headers. Just get a 1 5/8" primaries and like a 2.5" collector.

If you live in an emissions testing area, I highly recommend the Thorley headers... Technically, they are mid-length headers (the kit contains everything you'll need, and you'll replace everything before the cats). I've had mine for many years now and they still look about the same as the day I installed them. Not the cheapest by any means, but I have zero complaints with my ceramic coated ones. ;-)

would i run into problems with longs if i do suspensuion lift later on down the road? im pretty sure we dont have emmisions in va or atleast where i took mine. i mean it passed with hole in exhaust and worn out idler arm haha. i need to figure my exhaust out before next november for inspection cuz right now its cut off like right below front seats with a tip screwd on. sounds pretty good but idk what im gonna do when i need to get it inspected

looked into it, its a pretty nice setup, but idk if I feel like spending 1k and change on them cause for that I could pick up another brand and have a pipe made to go between them and the exhaust

$1k??? Wow!!! Mine didn't cost that much...Are you planning to install them yourself or have them installed at a shop? I'm guessing you were figuring labor/install into that $1k?

****** headers part number 2462, for the 95 TBIs. not sure why tho the o2 bung is on the driver side, soo youll have to either get an extension or weld in another bung onto the passenger side where the factory is.. ceramic ones around 300 to 400bucks..

dont get painted, dont get shorties, dont cheap out.. youll regret doing all the hardwork with the paint peeling and then with shorties your not going to feel the fullout power from Longtubes... GO BIG OR GO HOME!
