shorties are the ones that positions of port and collectors openings are the same as stock hence bolt in direct replacement. Regulars are longer and may require modification of exhuast piping

It is possible on some shortys makers may require minor modification. It would say in the product info

I beleive the longs offer more torque throughout the powerband. At least that was the case when i researched this about my mustang.

Hey bro, long story short of the shorties is you really wont see much benefit...you should stay stock and put your money into something else, or go with long tubes.
